CUHCR IM residents will have protected educational time every day at noon, including a rotating schedule of didactic teaching, resident report, board review, journal club, grand rounds, M&M, PEC meetings, and wellness activities. Each academic year will begin with an orientation/bootcamp for the appropriate level. Subsequently, each month will be themed by the organ system as we believe this provides a structured curriculum which allows for improved knowledge retention to create a strong and comprehensive foundation.
Multiple teaching modalities will be integrated via standard didactics, case-based resident report, journal club, weekly board review and hands-on ultrasound/SIM/OSCE experiences, allowing for reinforcement of key concepts through active learning. Protected time will also include Academic Half Days every other month which will be fully dedicated to SIM/OSCE experiences. All sessions will be recorded through Microsoft Teams and made available for any resident or faculty member unable to attend.
