The Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine Fellowship Program at Cooper University Hospital participates in the Electronic Residency Application Service (ERAS) and NRMP Medical specialties match (MSM).

ERAS applications must contain of the following information in order for your application to be considered:
- Common application form
- Curriculum vitae
- Medical school transcript
- Three letters of recommendation, one of which must be from your current or most recent training director
- Personal statement describing your training goals and future career plans
- ECFMG certification (IMG Only)
- USLME reports (1, 2 and 3)
- Osteopathic COMLEX exam
The program director and a division member will perform a holistic review of the applicant files. Invitation for interview will be based upon their recommendations.

Program Eligibility
Eligibility for the Critical Care Medicine Fellowship requires a minimum of three years of ACGME medical training in Internal medicine. Individuals accepted for a position in the fellowship program must be U.S. citizen, classified as a resident alien, or hold a J-1 visa.
Military Applicants
Our program does accept applicants from the military interested in joining a civilian fellowship training program in Pulmonary and Critical Care- a 3-year program.
If you are in the military and are either approved or anticipate approval for civilian training, please contact us and inquire about additional details early in the application process.
Interview Process: Invitation to Interview
Applicants are encouraged to complete their ERAS application as early as possible to ensure full consideration during our holistic review process. A complete application allows the Selection Committee to conduct a comprehensive evaluation of each candidate.
Interview invitations are extended on a rolling basis beginning in July and continuing through August. Invitations are sent electronically through our interview scheduling platform, and interview dates are offered based on available capacity. Because we invite only the number of applicants we are able to accommodate, receiving an invitation guarantees an available interview appointment.
Our interview season typically takes place on designated Fridays during September and October. The timing of an interview invitation should not be interpreted as an indication of an applicant's competitiveness or ranking within the selection process. Applicants who are not selected for an interview will be notified once interview invitations have been finalized.
Consistent with the recommendations of the Association of Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine Program Directors (APCCMPD) and the Alliance for Academic Internal Medicine (AAIM), all fellowship interviews are conducted virtually. To ensure a fair and equitable process for every applicant, we do not offer in-person interviews or informal second-look visits as part of the selection process.
Following national recruitment guidelines, applicants are not expected to send routine post-interview thank-you notes or emails. Our Selection Committee is unable to respond to general post-interview correspondence. However, prospective fellows are encouraged to contact our program with any additional questions regarding the curriculum, training environment, or fellowship experience.
