The Advanced Hospital Medicine Fellowship at Cooper University Health Care is a one-year program designed to prepare graduating residents and early-career hospitalists for successful careers in academic hospital medicine. Built on a foundation of clinical excellence, the fellowship combines advanced inpatient training with opportunities to develop expertise in quality improvement, patient safety, scholarly activity, and systems-based practice. Fellows can further individualize their training through focused pathways in Medical Education, Clinical Research, Health Care Administration, and Medical Informatics.
As the primary teaching hospital for Cooper Medical School of Rowan University and a major tertiary referral center for South Jersey, Cooper provides exposure to a diverse and medically complex patient population within a dynamic academic health system. Fellows collaborate with experienced hospitalists, subspecialists, educators, and institutional leaders while assuming progressive clinical and academic responsibilities that foster professional growth and independence.
Through dedicated mentorship, individualized career development, and meaningful scholarly engagement, graduates leave the program well prepared to contribute as clinicians, educators, investigators, and leaders in academic and community hospital medicine.
