Faculty

Tae Won Benjamin Kim, MD, is the Division Head for the Orthopaedic Oncology Center, supported by the Cancer Institute and the Bone and Joint Institute at Cooper University Health Care. He received his medical degree from Albert Einstein College of Medicine in New York and completed his orthopaedic surgery residency at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia. Dr. Kim completed a clinical fellowship in orthopaedic oncology at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center in New York and is board certified in orthopaedic surgery. His special interests and clinical focus include benign and malignant bone and soft tissue tumors, spine and sacral tumors, and metastatic bone disease. He also has interest in limb-sparing surgeries for failed joint replacements and complex joint replacement problems.

Dr. Kim is currently an Associate Professor at the Cooper Medical School of Rowan University and has held additional teaching and editing positions, including Chief Editor of Oncology Section, University of Pennsylvania, Orthopaedic Journal, Department of Orthopaedic Surgery and Co-Editor-in-Chief, University of Pennsylvania Orthopaedic Journal, Department of Orthopaedic Surgery. Dr. Kim has been published in many academic journals including the Journal of Arthroplasty and the Journal of Bone and Joint Surgery.

Mark A. Pollard, MD, is originally from Erie, Pennsylvania. He graduated from Penn State as an undergraduate and graduated from MCP/Hahnemann University School of Medicine (now Drexel) in Philadelphia, PA.

Dr. Pollard completed residency training in orthopaedic surgery at UPMC Hamot Medical Center in Erie, PA, and his fellowship in orthopaedic sports medicine at the American Sports Medicine Institute in Birmingham, AL. He is currently an Assistant Professor of Orthopaedic Surgery at Cooper Medical School of Rowan University, as well as the Associate Program Director of the Orthopaedic Surgery Residency Program. He provides coverage to many high school and college teams, and takes a special interest in knee and shoulder injuries.

Catherine J. Fedorka, MD, practices in the Glassboro, Camden, and Voorhees office locations of the Cooper Bone and Joint Institute. She completed an orthopaedic shoulder and elbow fellowship as part of the Harvard Combined Orthopaedic Program at both the Massachusetts General Hospital and Brigham and Women's Hospital in Boston. She completed her orthopaedic residency training just across the bridge at Hahnemann University Hospital/Drexel University College of Medicine after completing medical school at Jefferson Medical College of Thomas Jefferson University. Dr. Fedorka matriculated from Colgate University with a bachelors of arts in chemistry.

She has been an active researcher and has been published in multiple academic journals including Journal of Shoulder and Elbow Surgery, Clinical Orthopaedics and Related Research, Journal of Arthroplasty, American Journal of Orthopaedics, and Spine. She has also presented her research at regional, national, and international conferences.

While Dr. Fedorka treats a wide variety of orthopaedic injuries and fractures, she has a special interest in shoulder and elbow surgery, including shoulder replacement surgery (total shoulder arthroplasty, reverse total shoulder arthroplasty, and revision shoulder arthroplasty), athletic injuries of the shoulder and elbow, shoulder arthroscopy (including rotator cuff repair, shoulder instability surgery, biceps surgery etc.), and upper extremity fractures. Dr. Fedorka is a member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, American Shoulder and Elbow Surgeons, Orthopaedic Trauma Association, Arthroscopy Association of North America, Ruth Jackson Orthopaedic Society, and Philadelphia Orthopaedic Society.

Dr. Fuller is a graduate of Dartmouth College (AB, Engineering) and the University of Pennsylvania (MD). He completed his orthopaedic surgery residency at Case Western Reserve University. He completed three fellowships: Allen Research Fellow (Case Western Reserve University),  Hand & Microvascular Surgery (Thomas Jefferson University); Neuro-Orthopaedics (Albert Einstein Medical Center). He joined Cooper in 2002 and has served as Residency Program Director and Director of the Integrated Hand Program. He helped author the SMS Course at Cooper Medical School of Rowan University and has served as a course Director. He is a Professor of Orthopaedic Surgery and has been prolific academically with numerous publications and presentations to his credit and continues scholarly pursuits currently with ongoing grant funded research. His current research interests include peripheral nerve injury and repair, orthopaedic trauma and graduate medical education. He has also led both regional and national orthopaedic organizations including serving as President for the Orthopaedic Rehabilitation Association.

David Clements, MD, is the Director of Orthopaedic Spine Surgery and Director of the Scoliosis Program at Cooper University Health Care. He is a Professor of Orthopaedic Surgery and Neurosurgery at Cooper Medical School of Rowan University and Cooper University Hospital, and is a member of the volunteer faculty at Shriners Hospital for Children and St. Christopher's Hospital for Children. Dr. Clements is board-certified in Orthopaedic Surgery.

Dr. Clements completed fellowship training in spine surgery in 1989 at the Hospital for Special Surgery, Memorial Sloan-Kettering Hospital, Cornell Medical Center in New York. He graduated from Temple University School of Medicine in 1982 and completed his residency training at Temple in 1988, which included time at the Shriners Hospital for Children.

Dr. Clements has lectured extensively and authored over 60 articles, chapters and books. He teaches medical students, residents and surgeons at his home institutions as well as nationally and internationally. He is a Diplomate (Board certified) of the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery, Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgery, Scoliosis Research Society and Cervical Spine Research Society as well as state and local societies. He has been a visiting professor in academic centers throughout Europe and America and has been a guest chairman of many international spine meetings. He has a special interest in surgical orthopaedic spine, treating children's spine problems including scoliosis, adult and pediatric spine trauma as well as neck and low back problems in children and adults.

Henry J. Dolch, Jr., DO, MSS received his medical degree from the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine and completed his internship at Graduate Hospital in Philadelphia.  He finished an orthopaedic surgery residency at the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine and a fellowship in orthopaedic trauma surgery at Georgia Orthopaedic Trauma Institute at the Medical Center of Central Georgia, in Macon, Georgia.  Prior to joining the Department of Orthopaedics at Cooper University Hospital, Dr. Dolch was part of the Orthopaedic Trauma Group at the Charleston Area Medical Center in West Virginia.  As a faculty member and Instructor of Orthopaedic Surgery at the Cooper Medical  School of Rowan University and Clinical Assistant Professor of Orthopaedic Surgery at the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine, Dr. Dolch is heavily involved in the education and training of medical students, orthopaedic residents and orthopaedic trauma fellows.

Dr. Dolch has completed orthopaedic specialty rotations in adult joint reconstruction, pediatric orthopaedics, sports medicine, orthopaedic trauma and shoulder and elbow reconstruction.  He is a member of the AOTrauma North America Orthopaedic Faculty, Orthopaedic Trauma Association, American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, American Osteopathic Academy of Orthopaedics, and the American Osteopathic Association.  He is highly involved in clinical research and has contributed to multiple publications.

Dr. Dolch is licensed in New Jersey and Pennsylvania and sees patients in the Camden and Glassboro offices.

Kenneth W. Graf, Jr., MD, joins the Cooper University Health Care Department of Orthopaedic Surgery from Mission Memorial Hospital in Asheville, NC. Dr. Graf completed his Orthopaedic Trauma Fellowship at the R. Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore, MD, and completed his Orthopaedic Surgery Residency at the University of Michigan Hospital in Ann Arbor, MI. He received his medical degree from Hahnemann University School of Medicine in Philadelphia, PA.

Over the years, Dr. Graf has been an active course instructor and lecturer. He has been published in Arthroscopy: The Journal of Arthroscopic and Related Research Surgery, and has written a book chapter on Unstable Pelvic Fractures for eMedicine. Dr. Graf is a member of the American Medical Association, Alpha Omega Alpha, and is board certified in orthopaedic trauma through the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgery.

Dr. Graf's special interests include: Reconstructive Orthopaedic Trauma Surgery, Cold Trauma, Pelvis and Acetabular Surgery, Musculoskeletal Trauma, including Fractures, Nonunions and Malunions, Foot & Ankle Surgery.

Christina J. Gutowski, MD, MPH, is an attending orthopaedic oncologist at Cooper University Health Care. She joined the Cooper Department of Orthopaedic Surgery after completing her surgical fellowship at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center in New York, NY.

She serves as one of the surgeons at the multidisciplinary Orthopaedic Oncology Center at Cooper, supported by MD Anderson Cancer Center at Cooper, as well as the Cooper Bone and Joint Institute. Her special interests and clinical focus include benign and malignant bone and soft tissue tumors, limb salvage and reconstruction, metastatic bone disease, and complex joint arthroplasty. She also holds a position on the academic staff of Cooper Medical School of Rowan University.

Dr. Gutowski received her medical degree from Rutgers-New Jersey Medical School in Newark, NJ, where she achieved AOA status. She achieved a Masters in Public Health, with a focus in Health Policy and Management, from the University of California-Berkeley during her medical training. She then completed her surgical internship and orthopaedic surgery residency at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital in Philadelphia, PA. Dr. Gutowski completed a clinical fellowship in orthopaedic oncology at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center prior to joining the staff at Cooper. 

She is a board member of the Philadelphia Orthopaedic Society, and a Diplomate of the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery. She is also an active member of the American Orthopaedic Association, Musculoskeletal Tumor Society, Ruth Jackson Orthopaedic Society, New Jersey Orthopaedic Society, and Eastern Orthopaedic Association.‚Äã

Matthew T. Kleiner, MD is a fellowship-trained Orthopaedic Sports Medicine Surgeon in the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery at Cooper University Hospital and Associate Professor of Orthopaedic Surgery at Cooper Medical School of Rowan University.

He is a graduate of Boston College and then went on to medical school at Temple University School of Medicine. He stayed at Temple to complete his orthopaedic residency in the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery and Sports Medicine at Temple University Hospital. Following residency, he pursued a fellowship in Orthopaedic Sports Medicine at the University of Southern California in Los Angeles.  At both Temple and USC, Dr. Kleiner assisted in the care of Division 1 athletes and learned from true leaders in the field of orthopaedic sports medicine.

After fellowship, Dr. Kleiner practiced in Southern California before returning to the East Coast to join the team at Cooper. Dr. Kleiner is a board-certified orthopaedic surgeon and is a member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, the Arthroscopy Association of North America and the American Orthopaedic Society for Sports Medicine. He greatly enjoys being involved in the training of residents and medical students and is actively involved in research, with several publications to his credit.

Dr. Kleiner specializes in the management of treatment of athletic injuries to the knee, shoulder, elbow, and hip. He helps in coverage of several local high school sports teams and Rowan University.

Rakesh P. Mashru, MD is a native of South Jersey and attended the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, MI for his undergraduate studies.  He went on to complete his medical school training at Rutgers New Jersey Medical School in Newark, NJ.  After completing his orthopaedic surgical residency at Drexel University College of Medicine in Philadelphia, PA, Dr. Mashru went to finish his Orthopaedic Trauma Fellowship at the world renowned Campbell Clinic with the University of Tennessee in Memphis, TN   Dr. Mashru is a board certified orthopaedic surgeon through the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery.  He is an active member of the Orthopaedic Trauma Association and the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons.  Dr. Mashru is a published author in many peer reviewed orthopaedic journals and has given lectures and spoken on numerous orthopaedic trauma topics nationally and internationally.  His current interests include adult and pediatric fractures, slow and non-healing fractures, and high energy trauma.

Jack W. Shilling, MD, brings more than 18 years of surgical experience to the Cooper Bone and Joint Institute. Previously, Dr. Shilling was a joint reconstruction surgeon at Aria 3B Orthopaedic Specialists in Langhorne, PA. Prior to that, he was the Director of Adult Reconstructive Orthopaedics and Orthopaedic Trauma for the Einstein Healthcare Network in Philadelphia, PA.

Dr. Shilling specializes in the areas of hip and knee joint replacement. He has special interest in complex hip and knee reconstruction including high-risk primary arthroplasty, revision arthroplasty, periprosthetic fractures, and infection.

Dr. Shilling received his medical degree from Hahnemann University School of Medicine, in Philadelphia, PA. He completed a surgical internship at Penn State University, Hershey Medical Center, and completed his residency at the University of Rochester, in Rochester, NY. He also pursued fellowship training in adult reconstructive orthopaedics, at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital, in Philadelphia, PA. Dr. Shilling's goal is to lead and grow the Joint Replacement and Reconstruction Program by offering patients the most advanced surgical techniques and best clinical outcomes possible.
