Welcome to the Obstetrics and Gynecology Residency Program at Cooper Medical School of Rowan University and Cooper University Hospital.

Mission Statement
The mission of the Obstetrics and Gynecology residency program at Cooper Medical School of Rowan University/Cooper University Hospital is to train exceptional physicians and surgeons who deliver compassionate, evidenced-based reproductive and women's healthcare. Our program develops leaders committed to lifelong learning, teaching, mentorship, and community service, and prepared to serve a heterogenous patient population with professionalism and collaborative care. Aligned with our institution's mission to serve, heal, and educate, we prepare residents to manage complex, high-acuity cases with confidence and skill. Our graduates are equipped for successful careers in fellowship training, academic medicine, or private practice, and to serve as advocates for reproductive health and the advancement of the specialty.
Program Aims
- Produce strong, independent clinicians who provide comprehensive obstetrical and gynecological care for their patients and who function as astute consultants to healthcare providers in other fields.
- Produce proficient surgeons who are capable of leading a healthcare team with compassion and respect.
- Create lifelong learners by fostering intellectual curiosity, engaging in scholarly activities, and instilling lifelong learning in others.
- Produce physicians who will work effectively in teams to ensure patient safety and quality.
- Graduate physicians with the skill set to provide compassionate and quality healthcare to underserved patients and to be active participants in their community.
