Current Fellows

Sahi grew up in the Washington DC suburbs but went to the New Jersey Institute of Technology (NJIT) for undergrad, where she studied biomedical engineering. There, she gained a love for medicine and research, she attended the University of Virginia for medical school and completed her residency at the University of Maryland Medical Center. Her clinical and research interests within Cardiology include medical device research, advanced heart failure, and cardiac critical care. Personal interests include reading mystery/fantasy novels, running, hiking, and exploring new cities and restaurants with friends and family.

David enjoys sports, live music, and going out with friends in my spare time. He’s a fan of all Philadelphia sports teams but enjoys watching football the most. He loves staying active, exploring new areas, and going to the beach whenever he gets a chance.

Outside of work, Nikita’s interests include hiking, traveling to national parks, spending time with family/friends, and watching Bollywood movies.

Ashley grew up in Camp Hill, PA, and was excited to return closer to home for residency and now Fellows. She enjoys spending time with family and friends, watching sports (especially the Ravens!), staying active, and trying different restaurants in Philadelphia. She’s thrilled to be pursuing a career in cardiology to make a difference in patient's lives through prevention and attentive care!

Cara grew up in West Philadelphia surrounded by her many siblings and cousins who lived around the corner. She only left Philadelphia briefly to go to Brown University in Providence Rhode Island, but then came right back to attend medical school and residency in the Philadelphia region. Her research interests have been in premature coronary artery disease, and she hopes to continue with this population during her Fellows and as a future Cardiologist. She also wishes to pursue work within the field of bioinformatics. In her free time, she likes to host dinner parties, lift kettlebells, read, and play with her two children.

Morgan grew up in South Jersey right outside of Philadelphia. She attended undergrad at the University of Penn where she was a Division I gymnast before moving on to PCOM and Temple for her medical education and training. She met her future husband, a South Philly native, in medical school and has enjoyed having someone to share the burden of being a Philadelphia Sports Fan. When she isn’t watching sports, you can find her at the beach with her family or singing along to Broadway musicals.

Born and raised in Cherry Hill, Ben is ecstatic to be back home for Fellows! Ben spends his spare time watching English Premier League soccer (go gunners!), attending concerts at the Kimmel Center, and spending time outdoors with his fiancée and their long-haired miniature dachshund named Daisy.

Andy is from Columbus, Ohio and attended the University of Dayton in Ohio for college. He came to Philly for medical school and fell in love with the city. In his free time, he enjoys spending time with his friends, specifically going out to restaurants, going to Phillies games, watching sports (especially Notre Dame football), and drinking wine. He enjoys spending time with his family, especially his nieces / nephews as well as his lovely fiancé. He also enjoys playing golf, playing guitar, going down the shore, and exercising.

Jake grew up in the suburbs of Philadelphia. He is an avid Philadelphia sports fan and never misses the chance to watch the Sixers or Eagles play! In his free time, he loves to play golf and go skiing. He is a proud “girl dad” and loves spending time with his wife, Samantha, and his daughter Julie. From a career standpoint, Jake is interested in interventional cardiology and critical care but is excited to explore all of the fascinating areas that cardiology has to offer.

Kashka grew up in South Philly after moving from the Philippines as a child. She went to medical school and completed her residency at Jefferson. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with family and friends, traveling, weightlifting, hiking, and passionately cheering on the Philadelphia Eagles!

Koura grew up in Gabon and Senegal, located in central and west Africa, respectively. She ventured out to Arkansas to pursue her undergraduate degree in Biomedical engineering and premed when life took an unexpected turn. She had a stint at Goldman Sachs in Utah as an operations analyst before finding her way back to medicine at Touro College of Osteopathic Medicine in NYC. She then moved to Philadelphia for residency. She loves educating her patients about the prevention of cardiovascular disease, heart disease in women, and the intersection of medicine and quality improvement.
Outside of work, you can find her in NYC spending time with her nieces, cooking and hosting, reading, or indoor cycling.

Kevin grew up in Medford before heading down to James Madison University for college and VCOM for medical school. He always planned to return to the area for residency and is happy to remain at Cooper for Fellows. His free time consists of activities with his wife and 2- year-old daughter, going to the beach, and enjoying Philadelphia sports.

I was born in Maryland but grew up in Lagos, Nigeria. I moved back to the US at age 16 to attend Undergrad at the University of Maryland, Baltimore County. During my gap years, I was a Montessori school teacher and taught Kindergarten. I went to medical school at Howard University College of Medicine in DC and then returned to Baltimore for residency. I have always wanted to be a cardiologist since my undergraduate years, and I’m excited my dream came true! I love to read; I have a book collection of over 50 books spanning different genres. During my free time, I love to cook, spend time with family, and work out.

I was raised in Florida and then moved to Hershey, Pennsylvania as a teenager. I went to Penn State for undergrad and then initially worked as a biomedical engineer for a couple of years out of college before finding my way to medicine. I have lived in the area for over 7 years and love it here! Outside of work, I like to spend time with my cat, Myra, face time with my nieces and nephews, and read mystery novels.

Hera grew up in Florida before making her way to the Philadelphia region for residency. She enjoys traveling and watching documentaries. When she is not in the hospital, you can find her trying new Philadelphia restaurants and coffee shops or walking on the Schuylkill River Trail.

Mike grew up in Upstate New York in a big Greek and Italian family. He is a loyal Buffalo Bills fan. In his free time, he enjoys running, golfing, and wine tasting.

Dan was born and raised in Long Valley, NJ, where he lived until heading to Notre Dame (Go Irish!) for college. He moved to Philadelphia for medical school and has been thrilled to make the city his home. Outside of work, Dan is a passionate sports fan and dedicated reader who loves to spend time with friends and family exploring Philly and the surrounding region.

Born and raised in Pennsylvania and New Jersey, Amanda took a detour to Virginia and North Carolina for training and is excited to be back for fellowship! Amanda enjoys biking, running, outdoor salsa dancing, and international travel as well as exploring the US national parks. When in Philly, Amanda’s favorite pastimes include cooking, trying new restaurants, cheering on the Eagles, and hanging out with her nephews. Her career interests include general cardiology, teaching, and quality improvement. She speaks Spanish and looks forward to taking care of patients in the Camden area and beyond!
