Dr. Mitrev obtained his medical degree from the University of Oslo in Norway. From 1997-1999, he completed mandatory house officer assignments in surgery, medicine, and family practice in Norway, where, among other places, he was a family physician on a small island archipelago in the North Sea.

In 2000, Dr. Mitrev was an internal medicine intern at Yale-St. Raphael hospital, after which he completed residency and a cardiac anesthesia fellowship at St.Luke’s-Roosevelt and Columbia-Presbyterian in New York City.

After four years in private practice, Dr. Mitrev joined Cooper in 2009. His interests include cardiac anesthesia, TEE and hemodynamic monitoring, as well as healthcare leadership and the business of medicine. Dr. Mitrev currently serves as Division Chief for research at the Department of Anesthesiology, and is group leader for Scholars’ Workshop at Cooper Medical School of Rowan University. He is Chair of the Member Engagement Committee of the Society of Cardiovascular Anesthesiologists. In his free time, he enjoys literature, music, travel and spending time with his family.

Dr. Montella is currently the Chief Medical Officer at Cooper University Health Care. He received his medical degree from Jefferson Medical College then completed a residency in OB-GYN at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital, Philadelphia, and a fellowship in Female Pelvic Medicine and Reconstructive Surgery at the University of California, Irvine. He earned a Master of Science degree in Healthcare Quality and Safety from the Jefferson College of Population Health and is a Certified Physician Executive through the Certifying Commission of Medical Management. He is also a TeamSTEPPS Master Trainer in patient safety. Dr. Montella is Board Certified in Female Pelvic Medicine and Reconstructive Surgery and has practiced this specialty for more than 26 years. He was former Chair of the Department of OB-GYN at Jefferson Medical College, served as President of the American Urogynecologic Society, and has participated in NIH study sections and grant reviews for the Pelvic Floor Disorders Network. He has presented his scientific work at TeamSTEPPS National Conferences and AUGS Annual Scientific Meetings and has published his research in the American Journal of Medical Quality, Obstetrics and Gynecology, and The Journal of Female Pelvic Medicine and Surgery.

Dr. Montella is the executive physician lead on the Quality and Patient Safety Pillar for the organization and has designed a method for incentivizing physicians for meeting quality metrics. He has played an integral role in helping physician leadership craft individualized quality measures for their groups that align with organization goals in order to improve value while maximizing reimbursement and reducing cost.

Raquel Mora, MD, is an Assistant Professor of Clinical Emergency Medicine at CMSRU. She graduated from City College of the City University of New York in 1992. During this time was the recipient of 3 research awards, one of which was the Jonas E. Salk Award which is based on academic performance in scientific research in candidates pursuing a medical career. She obtained her Medical Doctorate from the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey - New Jersey Medical School in 1997. She completed her Emergency Medicine residency at the Brooklyn Hospital of New York in 2001 where she served as chief resident and received the teaching resident award and a dedication award from the night staff of the Emergency Department. She entered a Pediatric Emergency Medicine fellowship at St. Christopher's Hospital for Children during which time she pursued an interest in child abuse. 

Over the next 15 years, Dr. Mora worked extensively in child abuse evaluations, courtroom testimonies, teaching and creating practice guidelines, and developing a pediatric SANE program within the department at St. Christopher’s. Dr. Mora has also served as an officer in the Army reserves, discharged in 2010 after 12 honorable years of service.

Dr. Mora joined the Cooper family as a nocturnist in April 2016. She is dedicated to the bedside practice of emergency medicine and instruction of working within the resources limited to the nocturnist.  She has multiple chapters for pediatric emergency topics written in texts and continues to look for opportunities to combine the nocturnist life to didactic teachings.  

Farah H. Morgan, MD, Assistant Professor of Medicine at Cooper Medical School of Rowan University (CMSRU), is the Program Director for the Endocrinology Fellowship Program at Cooper. Dr. Morgan graduated from Boston University with her bachelor of arts. She received her medical degree from Robert Wood Johnson Medical School. Dr. Morgan completed her clinical rotations in medical school at Cooper.

“A big pull to come back to Cooper were the fond memories of camaraderie at Cooper and the faculty commitment to education that I experienced as a medical student,” says Dr Morgan.

Dr. Morgan went on to complete her Internal Medicine Residency at the University of Virginia. She then served as a fourth year chief for the Internal Medicine Program and went on to complete her Endocrinology Fellowship at the University of Virginia.

She joined the Cooper family in 2011. She has served as a Scholar’s Workshop facilitator at CMSRU for three years, is the co-director of the endocrine course for the second year medical students, and now serves as Endocrinology Fellowship Program Director.

“I’ve always had a strong interest in medical education, which was further fostered during my chief year," says Dr. Morgan.

"I knew I wanted to be involved in education after completing my fellowship. I came to Cooper because of the opportunity to help establish a fellowship program here. Working with the fellows is one of the most fun parts of my day!”

Dr. Morgan and her husband have been married for 11 years, have two energetic boys, Janu (8) and Jalen (5), and an energetic chocolate lab puppy, Jasmine. Outside of medicine, she enjoys skiing, being outdoors, and, most of all, spending time with her family.
