Leadership Message
Welcome to the Integrated Interventional Radiology Residency Program at Cooper University Health Care.
Interventional Radiology has never been a more exciting specialty to enter. As a recognized primary specialty with its own dedicated training pathway, IR offers physicians a rare combination: the opportunity to serve as proceduralists, clinicians, and advocates for patients across a remarkable spectrum of disease — from oncology and vascular disease to women's health, dialysis access, and beyond. The field is growing rapidly, and the need for well-trained, clinically oriented IR physicians has never been greater.
At Cooper, we are committed to training interventional radiologists who are technically excellent, clinically astute, and genuinely invested in their patients. We pride ourselves on producing physicians who are equally comfortable in academic and community settings — because we believe that clinical excellence and adaptability go hand in hand.
Sabina Amin, MD
Division Head, Interventional Radiology
Program Director, Integrated Interventional Radiology Residency
Associate Professor of Clinical Radiology, Cooper Medical School of Rowan University
Our program emphasizes a team-based culture, and the genuine camaraderie between our faculty and residents — in the reading room, in the IR suite, and beyond — is something we take real pride in.
Our residents benefit from a rich clinical environment at Cooper University Hospital, the only Level I Trauma Center in South Jersey. Integration with our Diagnostic Radiology Residency provides a strong and comprehensive imaging foundation, while our unique affiliation with the MD Anderson Cancer Center at Cooper affords exposure to complex oncologic cases and multidisciplinary tumor boards with world-renowned experts.
We are a program where residents are known by name — not by number. Teaching is a shared value. Faculty doors are open. And resident wellbeing is taken as seriously as clinical performance. We are building something here at Cooper, and we are looking for motivated, curious, and compassionate physicians who want to be part of it.
If you are passionate about IR and are seeking a training environment where you will be challenged, supported, and genuinely valued, we hope you will consider Cooper.
With warm regards,
