Student Parking

Students who plan to commute to Cooper by car will need to fill out a parking application form and leave a deposit of $20.00 check or money order to receive his/her parking pass. The parking application form and the security deposit will be dropped off at the Parking Administration Office located on the first floor of the CCIA Garage which is adjacent to the hospital. The students badge must be present with them when they submit the application form and security deposit to receive their parking pass, which will come in the form of a card.

Night Duty students who are working from 1900-0700 will be allowed to park in the CCIA garage for $9.00 a week. This is also the case with students who are working later than 2000 (8 pm). Student parking is located in the Theodore “Teddy” Hinson Waterfront Garage at 9 Delaware Avenue, Camden, NJ 08103. Cooper provides a shuttle service to and from the garage that runs from 5:30 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. If you are here during a night or weekend shift, you will park in the CCIA garage adjacent to the hospital.

Directions to garage:

  • From intersection of Martin Luther King Blvd. and Benson Street, continue along MLK West to Riverside Drive.
  • Turn right at Riverside Drive
  • Right again onto Federal St.
  • Then right onto Delaware Ave.
  • The entrance to the garage will be on your right as you pass under the garage structure.
  • The shuttle to take you to 1 Cooper Plaza will be waiting on Riverside Drive.

The wafer/pass attached to your badge is a magnetized disk that is recognized at the entry and exit gates by a card reader. Simply point the wafer within 2” to 3” of the card reader. Once the wafer is recognized, the gate arm will lift. The wafer will be used in this fashion to both enter and exit the facility.

Once the student has finished their clinical rotation, before leaving they must first return to the Parking Administration Office on the first floor of the CCIA Garage. There they must return the parking pass issued to them. The Parking Administration Office later sends a list of students who have returned their parking pass to the Finance Department at Cooper, who will then issue a reimbursement check to those students.

Parking questions may be directed to Theresa Smith, Parking Administration Office, 856-342-2498 or parking-office@cooperhealth.edu. Hours of operation are 7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., Monday - Friday. For those unable to access the Parking Office in person during normal business hours, please contact the Parking Office and arrangements will be made to accommodate you.
