Student Nurse Clinical Rotations at Cooper University Hospital
Thank you for your interest in partnering with Cooper University Hospital for your nursing student clinical rotations. We’ve assembled this website to provide you with all of the information you need to navigate the preceptorship process, from negotiating an affiliation between your school and Cooper, securing clinical placements for your students, to ensuring that all necessary training and education are completed before your students begin their rotations.
Please use the tabs on the left to guide you through the steps of the process. All contact information necessary for the process can be found under Contact Us.
- Undergraduate: The school’s site coordinator, or a clinical faculty member, should contact Carmen McDonald to discuss the need for a contract. Contracts are negotiated through the Cooper Legal Department and the appropriate representative from the affiliating school.
- Graduate: The school’s site coordinator, or a clinical faculty member, should email Cooper’s Education Coordinator, Jennifer Turner, to secure a preceptorship if a negotiated affiliation contract already exists.

Requesting Clinical Placements for Nursing Undergraduates
Once a clinical affiliation has been established, the affiliated school representative will be added to our clinical faculty distribution email list. He/she will be the single point of contact between the school and Cooper for communication purposes.
Requests will be accepted in May and processed as soon as possible. We work diligently to assure that everyone gets the units requested that will meet the objectives of the nursing program/course.
Requesting Clinical Placements for Graduate Nursing Students
If a contract already exists, please email Cooper’s Education Coordinator, Jennifer Turner, with the student’s name, semester, preceptor, type of rotation needed and the start/stop date of the rotation; or call at 856.342.2459.
