Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)

Course Description:

The AHA'S PALS Course has been updated to reflect new science in the  2010 AH4 Guldefines b r  CPR 81 ECC This classroom, video-based,  Instructor- l e d  course uses a series of simulated pediatric emergencies to reinforce the important concepts of a systematic approach to pediatric assessment, basic  life support,  PALS treatment algorithms, effective resuscitation and team dynamics. The goal of the PALS Course is to improve the quality of care provided to seriously ill or injured children, resulting in improved outcomes.

Intended Audience: 

The PALS Course is for healthcare providers who respond to emergencies in infants and children. This includes personnel in emergency response, emergency medicine, intensive care and critical care units such as physicians, nurses,  paramedics and others who need a PALS completion card for job or other requirements 

Cost: $300.00 Initial / $200.00 Renewal

Prerequisites: Participants must possess a current Basic Life Support / CPR for Healthcare Providers card.

Course Materials: Pre-course information and the mandatory pre-test will be sent to you upon receipt of your completed registration form. IF YOU DO NOT RECEIVE THE ABOVE INFORMATION TWO WEEKS AFTER SUBMITTING YOUR REGISTRATION FORM. PLEASE CONTACT THE LIFE SUPPORT TRAINING CENTER AT (856) 342-2009. It is suggested that all participants read the PALS Provider Manual. The manual is included for paying participants. Also available to help you prepare for this course is an Emergency Cardiovascular Care (ECC) handbook available through the Life Support Training Center for an additional $25.00.

Refund Policy: For Cooper employees, a non-refundable cancellation fee of $100.00 will be charged to those who cancel less than two weeks (14 days) prior to the date of the course. A "no-show' fee of $175.00 will be charged to Cooper employees who do not show for the course. In addition, Cooper employees who register for PALS with an expired card will be charged $100.00 via payroll deduction and must register for an initial PALS course.

For non-Cooper employees, cancellation for all PALS courses must take place two weeks prior to the date of the course for a full tuition refund. There will be no refunds for cancellations or tranferring to another course date within two weeks(14 days) of the course date.
