Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course (ENPC)

The Emergency Nurses Association (ENA) Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course (ENPC) is an information-filled, 16-hour course designed that presents core-level knowledge and psychomotor skills associated with the care of children from birth through adolescence. ENPC includes information-filled lectures, interesting demonstrations, and also includes multiple skill stations that encourage participants to integrate their psychomotor abilities into a patient situation in a risk-free environment. The ENPC has been designed by nurses for any nurse who provides pediatric care, to sharpen technical skills and to provide a foundation for future learning. The ENA recommends ENPC as the minimal required education for emergency pediatric nursing.

DAY ONE: Morning lectures will include: The Pediatric Patient, Initial Assessment & Triage, Respiratory Distress & Failure, and Pediatric Trauma. The afternoon will focus on Psychomotor Skill Stations.

DAY TWO: Morning lectures will include: Shock, Burns, Child Maltreatment, The Neonate, Medical Emergencies, Toxicological Emergencies, Crisis Intervention, and Stabilization & Transport. Afternoon sessions will consist of written and practical evaluations.

COURSE COMPLETION: To successfully complete the course, the participant must attend all sessions, must score 80% or better on the 50 item multiple choice test and successfully pass the two skill stations: Management of the Ill or Injured Pediatric Patient station and the Triage station. It is suggested that all participants read the complete ENPC Provider Course manual, 3rd edition, that will be sent to participants prior to the course. A card verifying the successful completion of the ENPC Provider Course will be issued to the RN along with a certificate for 19.2 continuing education contact hours (CECHs). Verification remains current for four years.

FEE: $300 for ENA Member. $350 for Non-ENA Member. $125.00 for  Cooper Employees.

REFUND POLICY: Cancellations received at least two weeks( 14 days) prior to the date of the course will receive a refund of monies paid minus the fee of the course manual. No refunds for cancellations or transferring to another course date within two weeks( 14 days) of the course date.
