Basic Life Support Instructor Course

This nationally recognized program is intended for physicians,nurses, and allied health professionals who are interested in teaching CPR. The Instructor Course is designed to prepare AHA (American Heart Association) instructors.

Each applicant must include a copy of their current AHA Healthcare Provider card and a letter of recommendation from a current  AHA BLS Instructor. Only complete applications will be considered for the course. Incomplete applications, and those without tuition fees, will be returned.

Pre-Testing: Upon receipt of your completed registration and tuition. all candidates will receive the AHA Core Instructor Course computer CD. This course must be completed prior to attending class. The Certificate of completion must be printed and submitted to our office prior to the course date.

All candidates must successfully complete a psychomotor skills evaluation on all adult and pediatric BLS skills, plus a written exam on the morning of the course to gain entry. All course participants will be expected to perform exemplary BLS psychomotor skills without any coaching from the instructor. Any candidate who does not successfully complete the BLS performance skills evaluation and score at least a 90% on the written exam will not be able to continue with the course and no refunds will be given.

It is strongly recommended that all candidates attend a Healthcare Provider course at Cooper University Hospital within 30 days of the instructor course.

FEE: Non-Employees - $325 / Cooper Employees $175(Payment must be received with completed registration)

REFUND POLICY: Cancellations received at least two weeks prior to the date of the course will receive a refund of monies paid minus the fee of the course manuals. No refunds for cancellations or transferring to another date within two weeks(14 days) of the course date.
